ECHO Food Shelf
2011
This is a staple project for design students in the area. Some people opt for iconography or illustrations of food (no judgment) but that’s too on-the-nose for me.
I chose to use a smiley face to minimize negative associations that someone might have with giving or receiving donations. The custom script conveys empathy. Everything else is clean and aligned to represent an organized food shelf.
The elements for the lockup can be chosen based on the desired feel.
The single non-uniform margin near the images gives the identity system a down-to-Earth look.
